Gifted and Talented Education
The purpose of the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program is to provide challenging curriculum and instruction for students who are capable of achieving at a level significantly beyond that of their chronological peers.
District provided GATE funding is used to identify gifted and talented students, and to initiate and maintain services for them. The main academic focus is on providing differentiated learning experiences that occur during the regular school day and are based on the core curriculum.
Additionally intervention activities and classes are offered to GATE identified students in an after school format. Geography classes and Bee, Art instruction and art show and a Science Day are activities offered on a regular basis.
